Auctioned artists works support Lincoln gallery

[November 26, 2019]   Logan County Arts held their annual fundraiser and auction Thursday evening at the Lincoln Art Institute. Each of the members of LCA contributes a work of art that is auctioned off, and the proceeds are then donated to the Lincoln Art Institute.

“The Lincoln Art Institute takes constant maintenance,” said gallery owner Moses Pinkerton. On the schedule for the next year is to paint the walls of the gallery in a color that will help showcase the art. The lighting in the gallery also takes attention. Proper lighting design is essential so that when art is mounted, lighting can develop what the artist intended and what the visitor sees.

Evidently what the artists donated to the cause was appreciated by the visitors Thursday evening. Many people walked out of the LAI gallery after spirited bidding with something for their home walls.

At the end of the evening, the walls were bare. People appreciate fine art, and the significant place Logan County Arts and the Lincoln Art Institute gallery play in the fabric of Lincoln.

The November meeting of Logan County Arts was devoted to planning the art shows for 2020. The openings will feature group shows by members of Logan County Arts, and individual exhibitions by artists invited to the Lincoln Art Institute. The year 2020 promises to be an exciting mix of the best of fine arts.
