Oskar Lindblom had a power-play goal and
Michael Raffl also tallied for the Flyers, who presented new
coach Alain Vigneault with a victory in their season opener.
Patrick Kane had a goal and two assists, Alexander Nylander and
Alex DeBrincat also tallied and Corey Crawford turned aside 34
shots for the Blackhawks.
Konecny opened the scoring at 6:24 of the first period after
taking advantage of a turnover at the Chicago blue line. He
skated into the left circle and unleashed a shot that sailed
under Crawford's glove.
Nylander tied it 80 seconds later after he gathered in the loose
puck at center ice, entered the zone and beat Hart from the high
slot.
The Flyers regained the lead on their power play when Lindblom's
shot caromed off the post and deflected in off Blackhawks
defenseman Slater Koekkoek at 6:28 of the second period.
Konecny struck again during a 4-on-4 situation with 1:56 left in
the second period after scoring on a backhander from the left
circle.
DeBrincat, who signed a three-year, $19.2 million contract
extension on Thursday, answered quickly after converting a
centering pass from Kane on a power play with just 13 seconds
left in the second period.
Raffl, who had one goal in the team's final 20 games last
season, gave the Flyers a 4-3 lead at 9:48 of the third period
with a wraparound effort.
Kane made it 4-3 with 2:07 remaining with Crawford off for the
extra skater, but Chicago was unable to get the equalizer.
