The Lincoln College Men’s Soccer team won their
fourth match in-a-row and ninth of the season with a 2-1 win at
Oakland City University on Saturday.
OCU got on the board first with a goal in the 13th minute of
play, but it did not take the Lynx long to respond. Less than
two minutes later, Teodoro Guilherme (Brazil) sent a crossing
shot into the box that found the foot of senior Adrian Roman
(Waukegan). Roman’s shot on goal beat the keeper to tie up the
score 1-1.
Roman would be good for the go-ahead goal as well in the 23rd
minute of play when he took advantage of an Oakland City
turnover to score unassisted. The rest of the match was a
defensive showcase in which LC only allowed two shots on goal
and OCU one shot in a scoreless second half.
Lincoln (9-5-1) will play their final match of the regular
season at home on October 25th. LC will recognize their seniors
prior to taking on Thomas Moore College (KY) at 1:00 PM.
