The Lincoln College Cross Country teams
competed at the Illinois College XC Invite over the weekend.
Eleven teams participated in the event.
The LC men’s team was led by Dakota Shepler (Macomb) who placed
31st overall. Other top finishers for the men’s squad included
Andy Hohn (44th), Chris Raymond (48th), Evan Myers (52nd) and Ed
Lopez (56th).
On the women’s side, Shay Goble (Rankin) was the first Lynx to
complete the course. Goble placed 46th among female runners.
Marissa Sifuentez (52nd), Iesha Crowe (53rd) and Aurora Board
(54th) fished out the runners for the Lynx.
Coach Brian Herron said, “Each week I am seeing our runners
become more knowledgeable and confident at racing these longer
distances. The work that we are doing at practice is really
starting to show up at meets as far as individual drops in time.
We have a month to go before Conference. I am excited to see how
much more we can improve in that time.”
Both teams will compete next at the Western Illinois University
Invite on October 25th.
