The Lady Railers hosted Mount Zion on Tuesday night in the 2019 Volley for the Cure game. The evening raised money for Susan G. Komen, an organization originally founded as the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Staff members from Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital were on hand to remind people to get their mammograms as early detection of breast cancer is key. Breast cancer survivors were also recognized in the crowd and presented flowers. Volleyball supporters could also bid on gift baskets and buy 50/50 raffle tickets. While money from t-shirt sales is still being tallied, the evening did raise over $2,000.

On the court the Railers JV team defeated Mount Zion in three sets, 25-27, 25-21 and 15-3.

In the Varsity match Mount Zion defeated Lincoln 25-19 and 25-17.

For Lincoln, Brooke Kitner led the way with 5 kills. Abi Steffens had 4 kills. Leah Schneider and Elise Dawson each had 2 kills and Karissa Bowman added one kill. Dawson and Bowman combined for two blocks.

Lincoln is 5-21 overall and 1-8 in the Apollo Conference.
