“Portrait in Shadows” by Doris Huffman.

“Night Sky” by artist Ashley Sanders. “This piece took me a week to complete. I painted the sky with the canvas upside down,” she said. Ashley experimented mixing water and acrylics for a unique blend of media to produce a one-of-a-kind finish.

“Winter Sunset” by Pam Moriearty. Think of an Illinois January sunset, all shadows and shades as the sun dips below the horizon way too early.

“Tree of Transition” with artist Grace Stephenson. Grace uses the ancient far eastern philosophy of yin and yang, shadow and light, as the basis for her painting. “I’m going more for the shadow and light of our emotions, “she said.

“Blue Valley” with artist Sheralyn Bolton.

“Untitled” with its creator Olivia Kuhlman. This is a hand drawn piece done on a tablet with a stylus as a brush.

The very talented Kuhlman family with Grace Stephenson (L), sister Olivia Kuhlman (C) and mom Lisa (R). Olivia and Grace exhibited their art at the Shadows and Shades opening. Lisa is a graphic artist, so talent does run in the family.

“Morning Light: RMNP” by Tony Shuff.
