| The Lincoln College Women’s basketball team
opened up the 2019-2020 season under the direction of first-year
head coach Victoria Crawford on Friday evening. Unfortunately,
the Lady Lynx came out on the wrong end of a high-scoring affair
to take a 132-103 loss at Olivet Nazarene University.
Senior Erynn Young (Indianapolis) and junior Elizabeth Bankole
each recorded double-doubles for Lincoln. Young led in scoring
with 24 points while Bankole had 18, but Bankole’s total of 12
rebounds was one better than Young’s 11.

“Our staff as well as our team learned a lot about ourselves
tonight,” said Coach Crawford. “Our enthusiasm before the game
was really high, and we definitely did not give up, but
turnovers, failure to keep penetrators out of the paint and lack
of concentration at the free-throw line hindered our game plan.”

Coach Crawford says she looks forward to correcting those
mistakes as she prepares her team for their first home game of
the season against Roosevelt University on October 30th at 5:30
				PM.
