Railers suffer 46-7 loss to
Effingham in week two

The Lincoln Railers Football Team opened Apollo Conference play at
Effingham Friday night and it was the Flaming Hearts getting the
46-7 win.
Effingham scored the first touchdown of the night on a run from the
six-yard line from Logan Brown just four minutes into the game. The
kick for the extra point by Beau Hefner was no good. Effingham up
6-0 early.
The Flaming Hearts would score again on a nine-yard run by Chase
Woomer with 2:53 on the first quarter clock. This time Ivan Angel
was the kicker and he was good for the extra point. The Flaming
Hearts jumped out to a 13-0 lead.
Effingham took a 20-0 lead just before the first quarter ended when
Tristin Duncan scored on a 49-yard pass. Duncan caught the ball
around the eight-yard line and ran it in for the touchdown.
The Flaming Hearts added to their lead in the second quarter on
another touchdown and extra point. 27-0 now the Effingham lead.

Lincoln's offense would score a touchdown for the first time this
season around the 6:00 mark in the second quarter on a 5-yard run by
5'8 senior Payton Anderson. Alex Bogdanic, a 6'2 senior, was good on
the kick for the extra point for Lincoln and the Railers were on the
board, trailing 27-7.
The Flaming Hearts stretched the lead to 33-7 just before the half
on a 67-yard fumble return by Logan Brown. The kick for the extra
point was no good and with 27.2 seconds remaining in the first half
the Flaming Hearts had a comfortable 33-7 lead.
The Flaming Hearts would go on to score a touchdown in each of the
remaining quarters and hand the Railers a 46-7 loss.
Lincoln falls to 0-2 on the season and 0-1 in the Apollo Conference.
Next week Lincoln travels to Taylorville to take on the Tornadoes in
week 3.
