The Lincoln College Women’s Volleyball team had their five-game
winning streak snapped on Tuesday by the Missouri Baptist University
Spartans (NAIA). MBU came into the match ranked #4 in the nation.

The Spartans were able to control the tempo of play in the first two
sets by keeping the Lincoln’s serve receive off balance and putting
up a formidable block at the net. MBU won the first set 25-14 and
took set two 25-16. The Lady Lynx were able to regroup in set three
and did a better job of controlling the ball on their side of the
net. Lincoln kept the score close throughout, but eventually fell
			25-23 to end the match.

Lincoln was led in kills by senior Hannah Cameron (Lincoln) who had
seven. Five kills each were recorded by Amazing Ashby (Aurora, CO)
and Mikayla Seibert (Mackinaw). Morgan Lolling had 23 set assists
and Megan Gilliam led LC in digs with 12.

LC Head Coach Mark Tippett saw the loss as a learning experience for
his team. “We battled hard against one of the top teams in the
NAIA,” said Tippett. “They were a tough serving team that kept the
pressure on us by limiting their own errors. We showed we could
volley with them and as the match went on we played better as a
			team.”

Lincoln (7-3) will be in action next this weekend when they play
four matches in two days at the Millikin University Invite.
