Carrying two losses on the season, the Lincoln Railers football
team had some proving to do on Friday night. As the Railers went
into play against Taylorville on the Tornadoes home field they
stirred up some fire that put them early into the lead.
The Railers played well and improved their game, but the
Tornadoes claimed the victory.
While an exciting game, it was the Tornadoes win by two ending
19 - 17.
Scoring touch down runs for Lincoln were Alex Bogdanic and
Dreyden Pozsgai.
Bogdanic had a 31 yard field goal and was 2 for 2 on extra
points.
Austin Prater had an intercept and Jayden Pollice had a fumble
recovery.
Following the tough loss Head Football Coach Matt Silkowski said
he was, "Extremely happy with the way the kids played Couldn't
be happier with them. We keep getting better," adding, "Looking
forward to homecoming next weekend. Hopefully the offense will
continue into next week and that will result in a Railers win."
Lincoln falls to 0-3 on the season.
For the next two weeks the Railers will play on their home
field. Friday night Lincoln hosts Charleston and on Sept. 27 it
will be Collinsville at Handlin Field.
