The seasonal celebration of the place we call home
gives residents an opportunity to gather and greet one another, and
to reset from the stresses of everyday life. The casual yet festive
setting and live music encourages relaxation, a time for shared
laughs and to eat some good food.
Kids are kept busy with free games and activities conducted by
volunteers and community groups. This past Friday evening, kids were
particularly drawn to the giant energy busting inflatables.
Now in the last days of summer, and with many parents running older
kids around for homecoming activities, it was a lighter, and either
much younger or much older crowd that took in the free event held on
Lincoln's Historic Square from 5 - 7 p.m.
Many of those in attendance purchased their supper from favorite
downtown eateries while listening to local musical talent, Harmony
G.R.I.T.S. playing modern country and classic rock.
