Obituary
Robert J. Washam Sr., 94, of Lincoln,
passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2019, in his
home, surrounded by his loving family.
Robert was born May 22, 1925, in Lawndale, the son
of Arthur and Geraldine (Farnam) Washam. He married
Betty Coombs on Sept. 23, 1949, in Lincoln. She
preceded him in death on March 27, 2016.
Robert is survived by his children: Robert J.
"Bucky" (JoAnn) Washam of Lincoln, Randy Washam of
Lincoln, Regina (Dan) Shaffer of Emden, and Rick
(Jodi) Washam of Broadwell; 11 grandchildren: Jason
(Cara) Washam, Brandy (Curtis) Sutterfield, Kate
(Jason) Guy, Rachel (Nick) Mayer, Patrick Washam,
Kevin Washam, Matthew (Amy) Chapman, Nikki Chapman,
Kelsey (Erynn) Washam-Coit, Kayla Washam, and Kollin
Washam and 17 great-grandchildren: J. Drew, Abby,
Ethan, Hadley, Jax, Kirsten, Drew, Layla, McClane,
Parker, Maggie, Jayce, Jersi, Ethan Robert, Oliver,
Ellie, and Alana. He was preceded in death by his
parents. |
Robert was a member of the First
Baptist Church of Lincoln and the American Legion
Post # 263.
A memorial service for Robert will be held at 10:30
a.m. on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at Jefferson
Street Christian Church in Lincoln with Rev. Ray
Pepple officiating. There will be no visitation.
Burial at Zion Cemetery will be held at a later date
where full military rites will be accorded by The
American Legion Post # 263.
Memorials may be made in Robert’s name to The Land
of Lincoln Honor Flight.
Services are entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln.
