Week 5 of Lincoln
Railsplitter Football ended abruptly Friday night at Handlin
Field. With the score tied 7-7 in the first quarter of the game
between the Railers and the Collinsville Kahoks, lightning was
spotted in the distance and a delay of game was called. The
initial call was for a 30-minute delay, but the lightning never
let up and eventually the referees made the decision to postpone
the game.
Just prior to the
officials spotting lightning, Collinsville tight end Aaron
Molton suffered a horrific leg injury on a tackle and the 6'7"
296 pound senior had to be carried off the field on a stretcher.
Molton was taken away in the ambulance.

As
for the action earlier on the field, the Railers offense
struck first. Senior Alex Bogdanic scored a touchdown on a
37-yard run up the middle with 6:23 showing on the first
quarter clock. Bogdanic then kicked the extra point good to
give Lincoln the early 7-0 lead.
Kyler Williams scored the first touchdown for Collinsville
seconds later. Williams ran for 71 yards past the Lincoln
defenders and into the end zone with 6:08 on the
clock. Andrew Chi kicked the extra point for the Kahoks and
the score was tied 7-7.
