“Taking Care of Business” Workshop

LINCOLN
- Lincoln College’s MacKinnon School of Business is hosting its
second annual Taking Care of Business event geared to introducing
area junior and senior high school students to the various
disciplines of business. The free workshop will take place Tuesday,
October 15, 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the Lincoln College campus in
Lincoln.

During the workshop, students experience a series of
hands-on interactive exercises often used in the business school’s
course offerings. Areas highlighted included entrepreneurship,
economics, marketing, and operations management. The sessions are
led by Lincoln College’s business faculty.
The free workshop will expose junior and senior high school students
to some of the different areas of business. Thus, allowing them to
learn about the intricacies of business and potentially spark
interest in exploring business as a career.
Students will take part in a variety of activities
designed to illustrate business principles and business disciplines,
these include:
• “Q’s Toys” used to demonstrate entrepreneurship;

• “It Costs How Much?!” to teach students about the principles of
economics;
• “Creating a Brand” for marketing and advertising lessons; and
• “Pitching Pennies” for operations management practices.
There is no charge for the workshop and lunch will be included. Interested
