[April 17, 2020]
This Saturday, April 18th, would have been,
should have been, the annual Walk for Life fundraiser for the
Pregnancy Resource Center in Lincoln. |
The resource center is a great place for mothers
and expectant mothers to get the help and support they need to take
care of their infants and young children.
The ultimate goal of the resource center is to save lives by showing
women that they are not alone, and do not have to resort to abortion
because they feel they cannot care for or provide for a child. With
help and support when they need it, women who are expecting can
enjoy the miracle of life in their arms and know that they have the
tools they need to be a good parent.
The annual walk is a major fundraiser for the center and helps staff
provide necessary items for mothers and children as well as offering
emotional support and other services.
This year, due to the coronavirus the annual gathering that starts
and finishes at the Lincoln Christian Church is not going to be
possible. However, the need for funding is still important, perhaps
now even more so. [to top of second

To help continue its good works, this year the
Pregnancy Resource Center is asking you to participate in a “Virtual
Walk” anytime between now and May 15th.
The concept is to do a walk on your own, and raise money through
pledges, as you normally would.
There
is an ad in Lincoln Daily News this week explaining how you can
organize your virtual effort and reach out to get pledges. You also
are not required to do your walk on one specific day, or even all at
one time. If your walk includes taking a few short jaunts around
your block spread over several days that is fine.
If you would like to help this organization, you can learn more
about how to do it through the ad in LDN.
Everyone knows, that this is a time when money is shaky for a lot of
us, even more so for those who are already struggling. We hope you
will consider helping this worthy organization.
