On Tuesday, Copper
Creek Cottages Administrator Deb Maaks and cook Emily Maaks spent
some time doing something good for some of the seniors in our
community who are unable to go out right now.
They devised a plan they called "ding-dong dash!" where they
delivered bags of groceries to 10 elderly shut-ins. Deb said that
the goal was to sneak up to the front door, drop a bag of food, ring
the bell, and dash back to the car.
They wanted to observe social distancing and keep the recipients
safe while also providing them with some much-needed support in this
difficult time.
Deb said that they did get "caught' a time or two, so they were able
to share some personal love while keeping their distance.
Deb concluded, "It was a most rewarding experience, seeing the
appreciation on their faces and being able to spend a few minutes
talking with the recipients."
