Obituary
Virginia Langellier, 95, of Lincoln
passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2020 at St.
Clara’s Manor in Lincoln.
Virginia was born on November 17, 1924 in Kankakee,
the daughter of Rev. Albert A. and Helen (Cobb)
Belyea. She married Robert Langellier Jr. on
February 24, 1946 in Urbana. He preceded her in
death on July 25, 1987.
Virginia is survived by her sons, Richard B. (Chris)
Langellier of Scottsdale, AZ, and R. William “Bill”
(Marsha) Langellier of Lincoln; her grandchildren,
Mike Langellier, of Phoenix, AZ, Brent Langellier,
of Philadelphia, PA, Jennifer (Brad) Shaw of
Lincoln, and Kristofer (Bobbi) Langellier of
Lincoln; her great-grandchildren, Konnor, Griffin,
and Addison Shaw; her siblings, Dana Belyea of
Tucson, AZ, Janice Cook of Fairfield Glade, TN,
Janet Steffey of Pleasant Hills, CA, Paul Belyea of
Mohomet and her sister-in-law, Lois Handley of
Tucson, AZ.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her
husband; and her brother, Al Belyea.

Virginia was the Music Supervisor for
District 27 for 37 years. She received her
Bachelor’s Degree in Music from Wesleyan University,
and then her Master’s Degree in Education from The
University of Illinois. She was a former member of
the Women’s Business Association, Retired Teachers
Association of Logan and DeWitt Counties, Daughters
of The American Revolution for 65 years, various
committees at The First United Methodist Church, and
the Delta Kappa Gamma Teachers Society.
A private family graveside service for Virginia will
be held at a later date at Zion Cemetery in Lincoln.
Memorial donations may be made in Virginia’s name to
the Lincoln Area Music Society or Memorial Home
Hospice.
Services have been entrusted to
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln.
