The fields of northwestern Illinois are
coming to your computer. Farmers, consultants, and others in the
agricultural community are invited to join the University of
Illinois Extension Commercial Agriculture team for a four-part
virtual field days series in August.

The annual fall field day updates for the Monmouth-based
research farm for the
Northwestern
Illinois Agriculture Research and Demonstration Center is
now available to a national audience. Illinois Extension
educators and researchers will provide in-field interviews, an
overview of their topic and preliminary data from current
research.
August 11:
Soybean
Cyst Nematode Update: Chelsea Harbach, Illinois Extension
commercial ag educator and researcher, will discuss the soybean
cyst nematode problem and the current research projects.
August 12:
Corn Rootworm Update: Nick Seiter, Illinois Extension field
crops entomologist, will discuss corn rootworm project overviews
and results at the research farm.
August 13:
Hemp Production Update: Phillip Alberti, Illinois Extension
commercial ag educator, will discuss will discuss early season
production considerations for hemp.
August 14:
Corn Tar Spot Update: Nathan Kleczewski, Illinois Extension
field crops pathologist, will discuss tar spot projects at the
research farm in 2020.

All sessions start at 1 p.m. CDT. The virtual field
days are free and accessible using any computer, tablet, or mobile
device. The event will be hosted using Zoom, which is free to

Participants can also sign up to receive 0.5 credits
of Certified Crop Adviser continuing education units for each
session.
