Lincoln College will be extending remote learning
for the remainder of the spring 2020 semester, including the final
exam period. Additionally, all on-site campus events scheduled for
spring are cancelled or postponed until further notice.
Unfortunately, this decision includes the Honors Convocation and
Commencement Ceremony scheduled for May 9, 2020. Campus facilities
will also remain closed.
“Our institution is deeply disappointed that circumstances have
forced us to adjust so many of our timeless traditions. Our hearts
are with the students who were looking forward to walking across the
stage in May,” Lincoln College President David Gerlach said.
“However, these precautionary measures are necessary given federal
and state guidelines and actions, including the extension of
Illinois' “Stay at Home” Order through at least April 30. Lincoln
College has an important role in slowing the spread of the virus to
ensure a safe and healthy learning environment,” continued Gerlach.
Faculty and staff are providing unique online learning and
engagement opportunities to students, while maintaining the core
educational mission.

Lincoln College continues to assist students by
offering the same support services available before classes shifted
to the online format. This support includes tutoring, advising,
counseling, career, library, and disability services, as well as
student involvement activities. Additionally, all administrative
offices are being staffed remotely.

“Although what Lincoln College is undergoing now is certainly not
part of the traditional Lincoln College educational experience, our
Lynx family will overcome this challenge. In the midst of crisis,
Lincoln College remains appreciative of our patient students,
flexible and accommodating faculty and staff, and the generosity of
our supporters,” added Gerlach.
