Friday evening hot air balloons graced the horizon over Lincoln and
points northeast. The first launch of the Balloons Over 66 weekend
went off without a hitch.
The wind was perfect and the balloons floated all in the same
direction with multiple balloons landing within the same vicinity
around Krueger Elevator.
Today, Saturday, fun in Lincoln will continue with activities at the
Oasis Senior Center on the city's west side. Several miscellaneous
things are going on in other parts of town as well.
Another launch is planned for this evening at 6 p.m. The
crowd-pleasing night glow will also take place starting at around 8
p.m. This year the balloons will glow at their launch sites, so
viewers have eight opportunities to view the glowing orbs while
maintaining social distancing from their vehicles.
LDN will have coverage of all weekend activities in its Monday
edition.
