Obituary
John “Jack” Merskin left this earth
for his final grand adventure on August 14, 2020 at
9:15 p.m.
Jack was born on March 10, 1941 in Chicago, to
Robert and Ann Merskin, who preceded him in death.
He married Lois Rae Behrends of Hartsburg on
December 26, 1964. They were blessed with a
daughter: Heather Ann (Merskin) Hardin on December
31, 1965. She in turn blessed them with three
grandchildren: Kathryn (Travis) Peck, Tony
Dallavalle, Jacklyn Dallavalle, and eleven great
grandchildren.
He proudly served his country in the
security service of the United States Air Force. He
graduated from the University of Illinois with a
degree in Mathematics and Computer Science. |
The family will have a private and
intimate celebration of his life at his home.
Memorials may be made in Jack’s name to Safe Haven
Hospice of Springfield or the Humane Society of
Logan County.
Cremation rites will be accorded by
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
