Dean F Anderson, 89, died in Sarasota, FL on December 12, 2020.

Dean was born in Kewanee, on April 19, 1931 to M. Ross Anderson and Gano Francis Anderson.

He grew up in Kewanee, Galesburg, Urbana, and Oak Park. After graduating from OPRF, he attended the University of Illinois where he earned a BS in Agriculture and MA in Mathematics. He was a proud member of Sigma Chi Fraternity.

On August 9, 1952 he married Judith Wells with whom he had three sons.

After two years in the Army at Aberdeen, Maryland, Dean spent several years in agricultural sales in Lincoln. He then rediscovered his love of math and began teaching at the junior high school.

The family then moved to LaGrange, where Dean taught in the Mathematics Department at LTHS for 25 years.

In addition to a love of golf, Dean’s avocation was officiating high school football, basketball and track for over 30 years.

When Dean retired in 1987, he and Judy returned to Lincoln. Judy died in 1992 after 39 happy years together.

Dean then married Beverly Bonser Corneille. Over their 28 years, Dean and Bev wintered in Sarasota where they met many close friends, and spent summers in Lincoln, later moving to Stoughton, WI to be closer to Bev’s family.

They played a lot of golf together, enjoyed traveling to many beautiful and exciting parts of the world.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Judy, and his son Michael. He is survived by his wife Beverly; his sister Sue (Howard) Busby, Solano Beach, CA; son David (Nina) Anderson, Chicago, grandchildren Nicole (Kristian) Martincec, Katie (Jacob) Karlin, and Ross Anderson; son Eric (Katie) Anderson, Glen Ellyn, grandchildren Jud Anderson, Elizabeth (Matt) Brown, and Jack Anderson; four great grandchildren, four step children, three step-grandchildren, and two step-great grandchildren.

Funeral Director

There will be no services.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Michael Ross Anderson Theater Scholarship c/o Lyons Twp High School, 100 S. Brainard, LaGrange IL 60525.
