Visitation:
A time of visitation will follow mass on Thursday
from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. also at the church

Obituary
James Willis “Jim” Ryan, 88, of
Lincoln, passed away on December 27, 2020 in the
comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family.
Jim was born on January 26, 1932 in Odin, the son of
Michael and Juanita (Shinn) Ryan. He married Susan
Thornburg on June 16, 1954 in Sandoval. She survives
in Lincoln.
Jim is also survived by one daughter, Bridgett
(Tony) Thomas of Lincoln, one son, Joe (Michelle)
Ryan of Lincoln, one brother, Michael “Jerry” (Judy)
Ryan of SC; his grandchildren, Marty Ryan, Brittany
(Rick) Cox, Andrew Ryan, Brileigh Sarnes, Emily
(Mark) Dunham, Ryan Thomas, and Garrett (Jorja)
Aeilts; his great-grandchildren, Ashton Sherren,
Addi Sherren, and Dylan Ryan; he is also survived by
numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, including a
special cousin, Johnny Shinn.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, and one
sister, Theresa Morton.
Jim proudly served his country in the United States
Army during the Korean War from 1951-1953. He worked
part time for Lincoln College buildings and grounds
for several years recently leaving due to illness.
Jim was an avid football fan, he also found joy in
feeding his redbirds. He loved being outside doing
yardwork, and spending time with his grandkids. He
followed Lincoln College Athletics and liked to
shoot the bull with his buddies. |
Catholic Mass services will be held
at 10:00am on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Holy
Family Catholic Church in Lincoln, with Rev. Jeffrey
Laible officiating. Visitation will follow from
11:00-1:00pm also at the church. (due to COVID-19
restrictions, everyone in attendance is asked to
wear facemasks and observe social distancing).
Burial will take place at Paradise Cemetery in
Salem, on a later date.
Memorial donations may be made in Jim’s name to Holy
Family Food Pantry.
Services are entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln.
