Lincoln Public Library February 2020 Library notes [February 04, 2020]  Valentine’s Day Come-and-Go Crafts Come decorate Valentine’s Day cards. Make on for our Valentine’s Day box and then make as many as you want for your friends and family. Starting February 3rd and ending February 14th.  STREAM Grades K-2 get to experiment in different scientific and artistic areas and create something to take home for more fun! STREAM is on Mondays, starting February 17th, from 3:30 – 4 pm. Story Time

Ages 3-5 get to listen to a fun story and participate in a craft starting on Tuesday, February 18^th from 10:30-11 am. Register at the Youth Services Desk or call [phone].

Explorer Club

Grades 3-5 can enjoy fun engineering, biology, and art program activites from 3:30-4:15 pm beginning Thursday, February 20^th. Register at the Youth Services Desk or call [phone]. 

Game Night – Grades 9-12

Friday, February 21^st, high school age students can choose between a selection of board and card games to play from 3:30-4:45 pm. Register at the Youth Services Desk or call [phone].

Friday, February 28^th, junior high age students can choose between a selection of board and card games to play from 3:30 – 4:45 pm.

Fix-It Lincoln – The Library now offers a new collection of books on maintenance, repair, and upkeep. The books include topics such as automobiles, homes, lawns, health care, musical instruments, boats, and much more. Funding for this grant was awarded by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services to the Secretary of State/Illinois State Library.


Links on our Website - Our website has links to many free services, such as Library On The Go, WorldCat, Khan Academy, the improved World Book Web, and our Ask A Librarian service, as well as various downloadable forms. Check out what’s new!

3M Cloud – This is our new ebook database, which is an addition to our existing Library On The Go database. Thousands of titles are available, with more being added weekly, and can be searched via our online catalog. You will need a PIN number to get started. Stop by our Circulation Department for easy instructions.

Zinio – An electronic magazine collection with hundreds of titles. Create your account with Zinio from our website and start reading. Stop by the Circulation Desk for more information.

Going on a trip? – The Circulation Staff can put a hold on any outstanding requests you may have so you will get them when you return. Just stop by and let the staff know your travel dates.


E-mails and text messages – Our computer program allows patrons to receive texts and/or
e-mails for notification of reserved items and overdue notices. If you are interested in this service, please talk to a member of our Circulation Staff.

PIN Numbers – Don’t forget to take advantage of a PIN number (password) for your account. With a PIN, you can search the entire POLARIS system, see what items you have out, and request and renew books from home.


Gift Certificates – Need a gift idea? You can purchase a one year Library card for an individual or complete family that lives out of the library district. We will provide a gift certificate for presenting, and the recipient can bring it in, along with a photo ID and proof of address to receive their own Library Card.


Book Clubs - The Annex Building Circulation Desk collects reading lists for all the Book Clubs in the area.
