The University of Illinois Springfield Music
Program invites high school, college and community flutists to take
part in the UIS Flute Festival. The day will end with a free
concert, which is open to the public.

WHEN: Workshops start at 1 p.m., concert at
7:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 22, 2020
WHERE: Studio Theatre, located in the Public Affairs Center
at UIS
DETAILS: Four afternoon workshops focusing on warm-up
techniques, reading sessions, trials, coaching and rehearsals will
be held before the concert.
The concert will feature UIS Flute Festival participants, the
University of Illinois Springfield Flute Choir and the Millikin
University Flute Choir. UIS Adjunct Professor of Harp Julia
Jamieson, UIS Flute Instructor Abigail Walsh and Millikin Flute
Instructor Amanda Pond will also perform.

All festival participants will perform on a large flute ensemble
piece with harp for the concert. Flutists are welcome to participate in some or
all workshop events. Attendance is required at one Flute Choir Concert Rehearsal
to perform in the evening concert.
RSVPs for the workshops are appreciated by Feb. 20, however walk-ins are
