Once again this year the food was excellent, and a large number of
guests turned out to enjoy a wonderful meal topped off with so many
desserts it was impossible to choose which one to take first.
Meals were provided on a dine-in basis or for carry-out, and all for
a donation. The annual dinner is offered for donation only making it
very affordable for large families on a tight budget to get out and
enjoy a day when someone else does all the cooking.
Along with the meal of salad, spaghetti and meat sauce, bread and
dessert, there was also a large silent auction going on at the
dinner. Guests had the opportunity to view and bid on a wide array
of items from living shrubs and trees, to blankets, pillows, buckets
of tools, amazing gift baskets and much more. All the items provided
for the auction were donated either by individual clubs or from
local businesses in Logan County.
Another important part of the day is the recognition program for
accomplishments of local 4-H members over the past year.
Patty Huffer with the Logan County 4-H Foundation and Logan County
Extension provided the following information about awards given out
on Sunday. Photos of the award winners are also featured in today’s
edition of Lincoln Daily News.
