Lincoln College Athletic Director, Mark Perdue announced the
official hiring of Alec Esparza as the Head Men’s Volleyball Coach.
Esparza is a native of the Chicagoland area, where he made the
decision to attend Lincoln College as an NJCAA program. Upon
completion of his associate’s degree as a Lynx, Alec then advanced
his volleyball and academic careers playing for the Lynx of
Lindenwood-Belleville University.
Esparza began his coaching career in the fall of 2018, where he
decided to return to Lincoln College. He was named Assistant for
both the men’s and women’s volleyball teams the last two season,
including the full time assistant coach in the fall of 2019. Esparza
stepped in as the interim head coach for the women’s program and led
the team to the A.I.I. Conference Tournament Championship and their
first trip to NAIA National Tournament as an NAIA program.
Perdue is very confident in Esparza, as he had this to say about
him, “Alec has brought great energy and leadership to the volleyball
program and will be an asset to the entire athletic department.

"He has done a great job in the transition to Interim Head Coach and
it has made perfect sense for me to remove the Interim title and
officially make him the Head Men’s Volleyball coach.”
“I would like to give thanks to Lincoln College for giving me the
opportunity to take the position of Head Men’s Volleyball Coach. The
men’s volleyball program at Lincoln college has a special place in
my heart, considering I was one of the players that started the
program back in 2014. I know that with the support of the athletic
department and all of Lincoln College, there is great things to come
for the Men’s Volleyball program,” says Esparza.
With men’s volleyball already underway, we look forward to what Alec
will do this year and years to come.
