Written by Nicky Silver, the play tells the dark but
comedic story of the Duncans, a well-to-do Philadelphia family. The
fragile union of Grace Duncan (Calia Cole) and Arthur Duncan (Tre’veon
Campbell) is put to the test as the family’s veneer of success and
outward respectability peels away with the return of their son, Todd
(Played by Kyle Plohr). After years of living away, Todd returns
home unannounced, revealing that he is HIV positive. At the same
time, his sister Emma Duncan (Jacqueline Ishmael) has introduced the
family to her new fiancé, Tommy (Morwin Coney).
As Grace and Emma make preparations for Emma’s wedding, Todd begins
to excavate and reconstruct the bones of a dinosaur discovered in
the family’s yard. But, much more is being unearthed than ancient
fossils as long buried family secrets come to the surface. And, like
the ancient reptile, the Duncan appear to also be on a path to
extinction. Guest director for the Lincoln College production is
Myeongsik Jason Jang.
The play runs Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 20-22 and
the following week Feb 27-29, with matinee performances on Sunday,
Feb. 23 and March 1, at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 for general
admission and $1 for students.
Due to adult content, the production is recommended for mature
audiences only.
