The Mount Pulaski Hilltoppers won their first regional title since 2014 by defeating the Warrensburg-Latham Cardinals 67-60 on Friday night in Mount Pulaski.

Mount Pulaski was off to a quick 22-5 first quarter lead, with every starter contributing baskets.

Aidan Schneider and Dustin Murphy came off the bench to add to the Hilltoppers offense in the second quarter.

By halftime, Mount Pulaski was on top 32-19. The Hilltoppers led by as much as 20 points in the third quarter. At the end of three quarters of play Mount Pulaski was leading 50-35.

A late surge by the Cardinals made the game tight at the end but it was Brandon Kretzinger's clutch free throw performance that sealed the victory for Mount Pulaski.

Kretzinger was 15-of-15 for the game from the line and 13 of those shots were down the stretch.
