[January 04, 2020]  MOUNT PULASKI - John W. Poffenbarger, 76, of Mount Pulaski, passed away at 7:30 a.m. on Friday December 20, 2019 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
 

Service:  Private graveside services will be held for John at Lake Bank Cemetery at a later date.

Obituary

John W. Poffenbarger, 76, of Mount Pulaski, passed away at 7:30 a.m. on Friday December 20, 2019 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

John was born on March 25, 1943 in Lincoln, to Oscar and Opal (Butler) Poffenbarger. He married Janice E. Wubben on July 11, 1965. She preceded him in death on June 17, 2019.

John is survived by one brother Jim (Cheryl) Poffenbarger and two sisters, Nancy Shanle and Janet Cherry, all of Mount Pulaski. He is also survived by 13, nieces and nephews, 23 great nieces and nephews and four great-great nieces and nephews; one brother-in-law: Julian (Lou Ann) Wubben of Mount Pulaski and one sister-in-law: Judith (Norm) Maxheimer of Lincoln.

John proudly served his country in the United States Airforce. He was a member of Mount Pulaski American Legion Post# 447, Mount Pulaski Christian Church, and the Mt Pulaski Masonic Lodge # 87.

Private graveside services will be held for John at Lake Bank Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Pre-School or Mount Pulaski EMS.

Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Mount Pulaski is entrusted with services.
