Obituary
Sarah J. McCurry, 70, of Lincoln,
passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2019, at
Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, January
11, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. at Zion Cemetery in Lincoln.
Sarah Jane Stout was born on February 21, 1949, in
Lincoln, the daughter of Charles Edward and Betty
Leibengood Stout. She was united in marriage to
Charles Robert Svehla in 1969. She later married
Christopher Carl McCurry. He survives.
Also surviving are her daughters: Rachel (Randy)
Harris and Crystal Bell; step-children: C.J. McCurry
and Kimberly Ellen Payne; one sister: Charlene
Young; two brothers: Tom (Carol) Stout and Mark
Stout; six grandchildren: Gillian Harris, Taylor
Bell, Jackson Bell, Madelyn Bell, Preston Payne, and
Grace Payne. |
Sarah graduated from Lincoln
Community High School. She was employed at Abraham
Lincoln Memorial Hospital as a Certified Nurse
Assistant. She was happiest when she was cooking for
her family or gardening.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society
or American Diabetes Association.
