[January 10, 2020]  CHESTNUT - Judith Ann Schmidt, 75, of Chestnut, passed away at 7:47 P.M. Friday January 3, 2020 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

Service:  10:00 a.m. Thursday January 9, 2020 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski

Obituary

Judith Ann Schmidt, 75, of Chestnut, passed away at 7:47 P.M. Friday January 3, 2020 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

Judy was born on January 20, 1944 in Lincoln, to Merle and Patricia (Guffey) Lucas. She married Gerald Schmidt on June 14, 1964 in Mount Pulaski. He preceded her in death on July 27, 2010.

Surviving are her children Laura (Joe) Garcia of Woodbury, MN, and Jerry (Stacey) Schmidt of Mount Pulaski, her mother Patricia Lucas of Mount Pulaski, her sister, Barbara (Bob) Daily of Mount Pulaski, sister-in-law Helen Schmidt of Mount Pulaski, her loyal K9 companion Alaska and her pride and joy, granddaughter Emilie Sue Ann Schmidt. She was preceded in death by her husband and father.

 

Judy worked for Franklin Life Insurance Company, helped her husband on the family farm and worked at Vonderlieth Living Center for over 20 years. She was a lifetime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Mount Pulaski.

Services for Judy will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday January 9, 2020 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski with Rev. Barbara Stroud Borth officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial will be at Mount Pulaski Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or to the Mount Pulaski EMS.
