[January 14, 2020]
The Center for Creativity & Community will be hosting a youth
gathering on January 20th from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. for fourth to
eighth-graders to celebrate the life and legacy of Martin Luther
King, Jr.
Through conversation and creative activities we will look at the
arts that influenced the civil rights movement and invite youth to
consider a cause they care about, creating their own art—through
poetry, story, song, or symbol—to represent their cause.
The activity will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 301
Pekin Street in Lincoln. Doors will open at 1:45 p.m.

Parents are asked to register their children by Jan 18th, by phone (217)732-6141
or email at fpcyouth@preslincoln.org.
As with other youth events at The Center, this is free offering.
The Center is sponsored by First Presbyterian Church of Lincoln. It offers an
after school program for 5th to 8th graders with the purpose to provide a place
for youth to be themselves, explore their creativity, and strengthen their
connection within and with others. The program is Tuesdays thru Thursdays,
3:00--5:30 PM. Youth are welcome to join at any time.
