Wayne Newby, 78, of Yatesville, GA, formerly of Hartsburg, died Thursday, January 2, 2020 at Providence Health and rehabilitation.

Wayne Arthur Newby was born on August 28, 1941 in Hartsburg, to the late William Artimus Newby and Lydia Alveena Rhody Newby. He retired from Caterpillar as well as farming. He was preceded in death by his brother Ralph Newby.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Amanda Vaughn Newby, sons Karl Scott (Brenda) Newby of Taylorville and Mark Newby of Hartsburg,  daughter Marla Wampler of Springfield, nieces Barb Haggard and Linda Brooks of Lincoln, seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 6th at 11a.m. at the Yatesville Baptist Church. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Yatesville, GA.

There will be a Celebration of Life gathering at the Legion hall in Hartsburg, IL on Sunday, January 26th from 1-4 pm. All are welcome to come and share stories and memories.
