Local Daughters of the American Revolution recognize outstanding seniors and eighth-graders

[July 07, 2020]    The Abraham Lincoln Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution is pleased to announce the outstanding seniors in Logan and Mason Counties for the DAR Good Citizen Award.

Each area high school selected a senior based on the following criteria: dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism. A certificate and pin were presented to each outstanding senior.

The 2020 winners are the following:

  • Mia Young,
    Hartsburg-Emden High School

  • Elisabeth Durbin,
    Illini Central High School

  • Grace Hope Lessen,
    Lincoln Community High School

  • Isabella Wade,
    Mount Pulaski High School

The local DAR also made presentations to area eighth grade graduates. Each middle/junior high school selected an outstanding eighth grade student for outstanding work in American History.

A certificate and medal were presented to each outstanding eighth grader.

The 2020 DAR members that coordinated the awards were Marjorie Aper and Gail Apel-Sasse. The Abraham Lincoln Chapter of the DAR is pleased to present these awards to outstanding students for DAR Good Citizenship and American History.
