[July 14, 2020]  Collin Morikawa vaulted past Tiger Woods in the Official World Golf Ranking, which were released Monday.

Morikawa outlasted Justin Thomas in a scintillating playoff on Sunday afternoon to win the Workday Charity Open in Dublin, Ohio. The second victory of his young career elevated the 23-year-old Morikawa 16 spots to 13th overall, one spot ahead of Woods.

Woods will return to action this week at The Memorial after a five-month absence from competitive golf. The reigning Masters champion played in The Match charity event with partner Peyton Manning in Florida in May at Medalist Golf Club in Hobe Sound, Fla., where the twosome downed Phil Mickelson and Tom Brady.

Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy and Spain's Jon Rahm remained at Nos. 1 and 2, respectively, while Thomas moved up two spots to No. 3 following his second-place finish on Sunday.

Dustin Johnson and Webb Simpson dropped one spot to Nos. 4 and 5, respectively.
