Pouille has played just once in 2020, at the
Indian Wells ATP Challenger Event in March. He lost in the first
round.
"It's never an easy decision to take, but I will get surgery on
my right elbow this month in Paris," Pouille posted. "After new
medical exams, it appeared it was the best solution in order to
finally be able to play pain-free. I still hope to play before
the end of the season."
The 26-year-old is ranked No. 58 in the world and rose to No. 10
in March 2018. He is a five-time winner on the ATP tour and has
won $7.5 million in prize money for his career.
