[July 21, 2020]  LINCOLN - S. L. (Sharon Lee) Thompson passed into God’s care at 3:37 p.m., July 3, 2020, one day after his 72nd birthday.

Service:  1:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Lincoln

Obituary

S. L. (Sharon Lee) Thompson passed into God’s care at 3:37 p.m., July 3, 2020, one day after his 72nd birthday.

He was born July 2, 1948 in St. Francisville, to Herschel B. and Juliett (Pierson) Thompson. The Thompsons moved to Lincoln in 1964. Sharon graduated from Lincoln Comm. High school in 1966 in the top 10 of his class; he then graduated from Sangamon State University in May 1988 with a bachelor’s degree. S. L. worked 35 years for Cutler-Hammer/Eaton Corp. retiring as Production Manager in 2003. He was a member of the Logan County Friends of NRA Committee.

S. L. married Jane Wickline June 17, 1967. She survives as does their twin sons: Mark (Carrie) of St. Joseph, and Michael (Robbin Veitengruber) of Bloomington. Other survivors include grandchildren Alexis (Austin) Juneau, Houston, TX, Bradyn Thompson, Denver, CO and Conner Thompson, Columbia, MO. Additional family surviving are brother Herschel Jr. (Deb), Springfield, sister-in-law Barb Thompson, Ellery, sister-in-law Janet (Larry) Bruns, Taylorville, brother-in-law Galen (Brenda) Wickline, Lincoln, many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers.

Services for S. L. will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Lincoln at 402 Pekin Street, Lincoln.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
