[July 23, 2020]  NASCAR CUP SERIES: SUPER START BATTERIES 400 (267 laps, 400.5 miles around a 1.5-mile D-shaped oval), Kansas Speedway; Kansas City, Kan.

TV: Thursday, 7:30 p.m. ET (Green flag approx. 7:46 p.m. ET) - NBCSN (Radio: Motor Racing Network, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90).

THIS WEEK: The 19th of a still undetermined number of races on the season, the Cup series is headed to Kansas for what is for now the only scheduled race there. ... This will be the 29th race at Kansas, with Brad Keselowski winning here last spring and Denny Hamlin in the fall playoffs race. ... The track is fast and typical of NASCAR's many 1.5-mile D-shaped ovals, where aerodynamics, tire wear and the difference between the sun being out for part of the race before setting makes car setups tricky. ... Austin Dillon was the winner last week at Texas, with teammate Tyler Reddick finishing second, making it a rare 1-2 for Richard Childress Racing Chevrolets. ... Fords have won 10 races so far this season, with Toyota winning five - four by Denny Hamlin -- and Chevrolet three.

*Kevin Harvick leads the points race with 721 followed by *Ryan Blaney (630), *Brad Keselowski (615), *Joey Logano (607), *Chase Elliott (604), *Hamlin (578), *Martin Truex Jr. (557), Aric Almirola (534), Kurt Busch (533) and Kyle Busch (520) rounding out the top 10. Dillon and Cole Custer would qualify for the playoffs with their wins despite being 14th (428) and 22nd (322) respectively.

BEST BETS: Kevin Harvick is the favorite again this week at 4/1, with Chase Elliott at 6/1, Martin Truex Jr. at 13/2 and Kyle Busch at 15/2. Kurt Busch is a great value at 25/1, with Austin Dillon a steal at 65/1, because the Kansas track is very similar to Texas.

NASCAR XFINITY SERIES: KANSAS LOTTERY 250 (167 laps, 250.5 miles around a 1.5-mile D-shaped oval), Kansas Speedway; Kansas City, Kan.

TV: Saturday, 5 p.m. ET (Green flag approx. 5:16 p.m. ET) - NBCSN (Radio: Motor Racing Network, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90).

THIS WEEK: The 17th of so far 22 races scheduled on the season. An announcement of more races beyond Aug. 28 at Daytona is pending. ...This will be the 20th series race at Kansas, with Brandon Jones winning the lone race last year. ... Austin Cindric won at Texas and is on a roll, winning three straight starting with his sweep at Kentucky two weeks ago. ... *Chase Briscoe leads the standings (691), followed by *Cindric (667), *Noah Gragson (643), Ross Chastain (614), *Justin Haley (550), Justin Allgaier (545), *Harrison Burton (536), Michael Annett (481), *Brandon Jones (448) and Riley Herbst (377).

NTT INDYCAR SERIES

THIS WEEK: The series is taking a break after a double-header at Iowa Speedway, which were the fifth and sixth races of the shortened 14-race season. ... Simon Pagenaud won the Saturday race at Iowa with Josef Newgarden winning Sunday. ... The series heads to Mid-Ohio next on Aug. 9. ... Dixon leads the standings (244), followed by Pagenaud (195), Newgarden (191), Pato O'Ward (162) and Will Power (142).

FORMULA ONE

THIS WEEK: The series takes two weeks off after Lewis Hamilton won the Hungarian Grand Prix on Sunday, his second of the three-race season. ... For now, F1 is scheduled for a 17-race season with the British Grand Prix up next on Aug. 2. ... Great Britain's Hamilton (63) has taken over the points lead from Finland's Valtteri Bottas (58), who is Hamilton's Mercedes teammate, followed by Belgium's Max Verstappen (33) for Red Bull, Britain's Lando Norris (26) in his McLaren Renault, and British-Thai driver Alexander Albon (22) of Red Bull.

THIS WEEK: The NHRA is also taking a break coming off back-to-back weekends at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis. Sunday's eliminations were rained out and will be run during the U.S. Nationals at LOR on Sep. 3. The series will get back at it Aug. 6-9 at LOR before breaking out to Kansas on Aug, 21-23. ... Last week was the fourth event of the season, with 14 still on the schedule. Eight events have been canceled. ... Doug Kalitta leads the Top Fuel points with 364, followed by Leah Pruett (269) and Billy Torrence (237). ... Jack Beckman leads Funny Car (372) with Tommy Johnson Jr. (355) and Matt Hagan (329) giving chase. ... Jeg Coughlin Jr. leads Pro Stock (297) with Jason Line (289) and Erica Enders (282) close behind. ...
