Carson McConnell headed to State Tournament

Lincoln Youth Wrestling Results from the Illinois Kids Wrestling Federation Sectional Wrestling Tournament hosted by Monticello Youth Wrestling.

Carson McConnell finished 2nd, in the Novice #125 weight class after battling through some adversity he became Lincoln Youth Wrestling’s first two time state qualifier. Cameron Bell finished in 4th in the Novice #80 weight class. After losing a close quarter final match he battled his way through the consolation blood round to get back to the consolation championship match. He just missed a trip to the state tournament by one place. Seth Durbin competed in the Novice #74 weight class and Lakin Adams in the #100 weight class but were unable to place. Logan White competed in the #98 weight class in the Intermediate Division but was unable to place

As a coach I am very proud of these wrestlers and the way the competed all season. Wrestling season is long and grueling for the athletes and parents, they all did a great job getting to this point, stated Coach Walt Landers. The last two weeks they have competed in some of the largest Brackets and against the best competition all year

Intermediate Division (Ages 8&9)
Logan White Finished 2-2.

Novice Division (Ages 10&11)
Carson McConnell placed 2nd, Finished 1-0 State Qualifier.
Cameron Bell placed 4th, Finished 4-2
Seth Durbin DNP, Finished 2-2
Lakin Adams DNP, Finished 0-2

Carson McConnell will compete in the Illinois Kids Wrestling Federation State Championship Tournament next Friday and Saturday in Rockford Illinois.
