Local teens were granted awards at the recent
culmination of the Tomahawk Conference season for scholastic
bowl.
On Feb. 27 at Athens High School, teams met for
the final time of the season to compete in their round robin
tournament.
Throughout the season, Athens, Delavan,
Greenview, Hartsburg-Emden, Illini Bluffs, Illini Central,
Midwest Central, and Mount Pulaski each play each other three
times.
The school with the best record in the
conference wins the conference title, and the top 5 individual
scorers overall are named to the All-Conference Team.
This year, the winning school, with a
conference record of 20-1, is Hartsburg-Emden.
The students named to the All-Conference team
are:
Bryson Beccue of Mt. Pulaski with 155 toss-ups
Spencer Davis of Hartsburg-Emden with 97 toss-ups
Owen Iocca of Athens with 75 toss-ups Evan
Rohlfs of Hartsburg-Emden with 67 toss-ups Nora
Rogers of Athens with 59 toss-ups.
