To the editor:
I have had the privilege of serving my community
and my nation in different roles and with many fine people: working
with many dedicated colleagues as a prosecutor for over ten years;
serving beside men and women of honor for over 21 years in the
United States Army Reserve; and presiding alongside other dedicated
jurists in the courtrooms of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit as a
judge for nearly 18 years.
You get to know the character and integrity of those you work
closely with in each of these different roles.
There is one man with whom I have had the opportunity to serve
together in each of these positions: William Workman. Bill and I
worked side by side as prosecutors in the McLean County State’s
Attorney’s Office in the early 1990’s. For a part of my military
career, we served together as Judge Advocate General officers in the
86th Army Reserve Command and the 6015th Garrison Support Unit. And
for the last three years of my tenure as a circuit judge prior to my
retirement, Bill and I each served the citizens of the Eleventh
Circuit as judges.

I can assure the citizens of Logan County that I
know, from the experience of working closely with him in each of
these different roles, that Bill Workman is a man of honor and
integrity, and will serve Logan County well as its elected resident
Circuit Judge.
Logan County is fortunate to have two qualified candidates for the
position of resident circuit judge. But a choice must be made, and
as one who dedicated my own professional life to service to my
community, I urge you to cast your vote for a man who has done the
same right alongside me: Bill Workman. I have heard Bill speak, for
many years, of his dedication to and fondness for his home county,
and he has served Logan County well and faithfully throughout his
lifetime. I have no hesitation in endorsing Bill Workman for
resident Circuit Judge of Logan County.
