To the editor:
I am writing to share my thoughts about the best
choice for the next Coroner of Logan County.
Don Peasley has the right personality and demeanor, cultivated from
his many years as a licensed funeral director, to serve as our next
Logan County Coroner. Don is reserved, respectful and discrete.
Logan County has a long history, over 60 years, of the Coroners
position being held by a funeral director except for our current
outgoing Coroner. Nearly half of the current Coroners in the state
of Illinois are licensed funeral directors with some being funeral
homeowners. I think that the skills Don learned in mortuary school
and through his daily activities of helping families dealing with a
death make him a great fit for our next Coroner.

Don Peasley also has a long history of service to
Logan County. He was a licensed EMT A/B member of the Atlanta Rescue
Squad for 22 years. He also currently sits on the board of the Logan
County Paramedic Association.
During my 15-year tenure at Gift of Hope Organ and Tissue Donor
Network, I had the pleasure of working with Don on numerous
occasions. He truly cares about helping people cope with a part of
life that many people would prefer not to discuss. He is kind,
compassionate and caring with families. After seeing this firsthand
I know that he would make a great Coroner.
I encourage everyone in Logan County to vote for Don Peasley to be
our next Logan County Coroner.
Sincerely,
Mark Morris
