To the editor: At times I
have stood in a voting booth staring at names that seem familiar,
yet found myself regretting not feeling fully informed about the
candidates to make a confident choice. For the position of Logan
County Resident Circuit Judge, I am confident that Judge Jonathan
Wright is an exceptional candidate. With any election, it should
come down to qualifications for the job and the character of the
individual.
Judge Wright's qualifications for the position cannot be disputed.
He was appointed Resident Circuit Judge for Logan County by the
Illinois Supreme Court last year. He was chosen for the post over
several other well qualified candidates, including his opponent. At
his swearing-in ceremony, Justice Rita Garman cited his exceptional
character, work ethic and judicial temperament along with his
extensive experience why he was the right person for this position.
He has experience as a lawmaker, prosecutor, in private practice and
most importantly, in his current post as Resident Circuit Judge.

Having known Jonathan Wright for a few years now,
I can say he is a man of exceptional character. He is even tempered,
fair minded and willing to hear all sides before making decsions.
His faith and family are of central importance and the Wrights have
deep ties in several Logan County communities. The Illinois Supreme
Court has already put their trust in Judge Wright for this position
and I hope the voters of Logan County follow their lead to help him
keep it in this Tuesday's Logan County Republican primary.
