I believe in treating everyone with
respect and dignity without exception. Both victims and accused
deserve to be treated without bias or prejudice. For the judicial
system to work, it needs to work equally and consistently for all.
I also believe in being merciful and giving grace when appropriate,
yet being unyielding when warranted. I believe in second chances,
but not in fourth, fifth, or sixth chances. When rehabilitative
efforts have been offered but ignored or rejected, one can expect
			serious consequences.

I have a passion for this position and throughout my professional
career, I have only worked in State’s Attorney’s Offices. With over
10 years of legal experience, I have never worked as a defense
attorney, never worked privately in civil law, and never in family
law. I began my legal career in Kane County, Illinois working on DUI
and domestic violence cases. In December of 2012, I took the
position as First Assistant in Logan County.

Since moving to Logan County, I have worked closely with law
enforcement, corrections officers, firefighters, and DCFS
investigators and caseworkers. I have built outstanding working
relationships with everyone involved in the judicial system.

In January of 2019, I was appointed
to fill the position as Logan County State’s Attorney. As the head
law enforcement officer in the county, my goal is to keep the
community safe by holding offenders accountable for their actions. I
do my job out of love and hope for the innocent. Victims do not
choose to be victims. Only one person chooses where and when to
commit a crime, and who will be a victim—that person is the
offender. In Logan County, offenders’ choices will have
			consequences.
I am dedicated to seeking the truth, protecting the innocent and
keeping our community safe. That is a mission that should apply to
all people, all the time. Holding people accountable for their
actions is not the duty of any one person or Office. It is something
that we can all participate in. If you see something wrong, say
something, speak up, or report it.

If you share the same values and goals I do, I humbly ask for your
			support and vote.
