To the editor: I am writing
this letter in support of keeping Judge Jonathan Wright as our Logan
County Resident Circuit Judge. I’ve known Judge Wright for several
years mostly following his legal career here in Logan County. Even
without knowing him well, I’ve always known Judge Wright as a man of
integrity, honesty, and having a good understanding of the law. I’ve
had the pleasure of getting to know Judge Wright much better over
the last couple years. This was largely due to our children being in
the same school district, and Judge Wright coaching my son’s 7th
grade basketball team last year. I was impressed watching him teach
his students the game, how to handle tough situations, and to
overcome adversity…recognizing the significance of that time for
those kids.
In a recent speech, I heard Judge Wright describe
his service as a judge in a way I hadn’t heard before. He said that
his service to the citizens is to remember that a person’s day in
court is an extremely important event in their life and he
recognizes that significance from the bench.

It’s not just another case, every case and every
ruling are significant. Again, understanding the effects of his
actions on someone else’s life. This is just one of many
characteristics that makes Jonathan Wright a great judge, a great
coach, a valuable member of our community, and a great friend.
I’m supporting Judge Wright in this election because it is important
to keep him as the Resident Circuit Judge in the 11th Judicial
Circuit. A vote for Judge Wright is actually a vote to keep both
Judge’s in their current seats in the 11th Judicial Circuit.
