Residents at St. Clara's Rehab and Senior Care
are weathering the storm called coronavirus pretty well, thanks in
no small part to the staff who are caring for them daily.
Darcie Culbertson, Community Relations Coordinator at
St. Clara's, reported that all is going well. "St. Clara's is full
of hearts; window visits have been daily; residents are learning how
to FaceTime, Skype and Zoom. Being able to see the faces of the
residents light up when they are able to video chat with their
friends and family just melts our hearts. |
"We are all in this together. Our staff comes to
work each day, giving exceptional care because the residents are our
family. We stay strong for them, and they help us through the tough
days as well. The biggest hit each day is when the halls break out
in dance. The Activities and Therapy Departments have kept the
residents moving to fun songs that give them a workout before lunch
each day." Culbertson also shared that
recently the center received a couple of extra special "gifts" for a
couple of the residents. Identified as "Senior Signs," Culbertson
said that the message bearing photos really brightened the day for
everyone. The signs are designed to go outside on the lawn.

"We would love to have the lawn full of families,
children, and grandchildren of our residents. The amount of Joy that
we saw today was incredible.
Bloomington Car Wraps sold those particular signs. That company is
making the signs as a fundraiser to benefit charities in their area.
There are several businesses locally that would probably be able to
do something similar. Or, if you would like to receive more
