- Harriett A. Bender, 89, of Mount Pulaski passed
away on Sunday, May 17, 2020 at The Villas Senior Care Community in
Sherman.

Obituary
Harriett A. Bender, 89, of Mount
Pulaski passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2020 at The
Villas Senior Care Community in Sherman.
Harriett was born on March 14, 1931, the daughter of
Rell H. and Dorothy (Stoll) Schroth. She married
John A. Bender on November 10, 1957 in Mount
Pulaski. He preceded her in death on September 25,
1989.
Harriett is survived by her daughter Sara (Scott)
Tobias of Sherman and her sister Doris (Dean) Cates
of Mount Pulaski.
Harriet was preceded in death by her parents; her
husband; and her son, Mark.

Harriett was a former Treasurer of
the City of Mount Pulaski and served as the Mount
Pulaski Park District Treasurer for many years. She
was a member of the Mount Pulaski Lioness Club and a
Mount Pulaski High School graduate.
A private family graveside service will be held in
Mount Pulaski Cemetery on a later date.
Memorial donations may be made in Harriett’s name to
Zion Lutheran Church or Mount Pulaski EMS.
Services have been entrusted to
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Mount Pulaski.
