Olympia FFA Alumni and Supporters Name College Scholarship Winners

[May 20, 2020]   The Olympia FFA Alumni & Supporters fundraise each year to provide college scholarships for Olympia High School FFA members.

This year, nine Olympia FFA seniors were awarded college scholarships ranging from $250 to $1000 each for a total of $6,500. Scholarship winners included: Cavit Schempp, Bailey Rogers, Josie Litwiller, Kaylin Simpson, Alyssa Casey, Elizabeth Davis, Reece Douglas, Ryleigh Hilt, and Carson Inselmann.

Kaylin Simpson is the daughter of Mark and Michelle Simpson of rural McLean. She plans to study Animal Science/Pre-Vet at either Heartland, Illinois State or Southern Illinois University.

Josie Litwiller is the daughter of Greg and Susan Litwiller of rural Mackinaw. She plans to study either Ag Accounting or Ag Education at Iowa State University.



Cavit Schempp is the son of Darin and Cindy Schempp of rural Atlanta. He plans to double major in Accounting and Geology at either Southern Illinois University or Augustana College.

Alyssa Casey is the daughter of Katie and Jake Owen of rural Minier and the late Cory Casey. She plans to major in Pre-Law and minor in Business Management at Black Hawk East College.

Bailey Rogers is the daughter of Clint and Monica Rogers of rural Armington. She plans to study abroad next year and then attend North Dakota State University while majoring in International Studies and/or Ag Business with International Ag.

Elizabeth Davis is the daughter of Darren and Angie Davis of rural McLean. She plans to study either Ag Business or Ag Science at Parkland College.



Reece Douglas is the son of Neal and Erin Douglas of rural Danvers. He plans to study Ag Business at Heartland Community College.

Ryleigh Hilt is the daughter of Matt and Molly Hilt of rural Carlock. She plans to study either cosmetology or to be a dental hygienist.



Carson Inselmann is the daughter of Dixie Bennett of Hopedale. She plans to major in Ag Business Management at the University of Missouri.

The Olympia FFA Alumni & Supporters not only give college scholarships each year, but also provide funding for many Olympia Agricultural Education needs. The main fundraiser is the annual silent auction during Pack-The-Place night. The group also volunteers time to assist with grilling pork chops, judge career development events and proficiency record books. The group is open to anyone who is interested in supporting our local FFA chapter and Ag Ed Program.
