During our local annual campaign, donations
provided by generous businesses, organizations and individuals are
collected to be distributed in 2021 as funding for partner agencies
that provide services in our community. The money raised in Logan
County STAYS in Logan County.
As a result of last year’s campaign, $82,000 will have been
distributed by the end of 2020 to 15 different non-profit agencies
that benefit our community. For 2021, the United Way of Logan County
has partnered with 13 non-profit agencies to help fund the cost of
providing local services, with a focus on direct services for those
in need. The 2021 partner agencies and programs are: The American
Red Cross, Boy Scouts, Center for Youth and Family Services,
Christian Child Care, Community Action of Central Illinois Meals on
Wheels and CAPCIL Transit Program, Girls On The Run, Girl Scouts,
Lincoln Area YMCA, Lincoln Pastoral Counseling Services, Living
Alternatives Pregnancy Resource Center, The Oasis/Senior Citizens of
Logan County and The Salvation Army.
Thanks to our affiliation with state and national United Way
organizations, another $25,000 in grants was awarded this year in
Logan County to assist local agencies with the specific challenges
that presented themselves during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Why should community members get involved? NOW, MORE THAN EVER, we
need to LIVE UNITED. In 2020, local non-profit organizations have
had to cancel fundraising activities and income generating programs
due to COVID-19 restrictions, all while experiencing increased
demand for services to those in need.
Your help will allow the United Way of Logan County to provide
funding to 13 programs that support our friends, neighbors and relatives during
times of difficulty.
The campaign to raise money for 2021 is happening now and is
ongoing.
